Credit Usage FAQ

Market Monolith operates on a transparent, pay-as-you-go compute model. Credits are prepaid units that represent compute resource usage across the platform. This page explains how credits work, how they’re priced, and how they’re consumed.

1. What are Credits?

Credits are prepaid units used to access compute infrastructure on Market Monolith. They represent the smallest measurable unit of usage on our platform and are used to meter the cost of resources like processing time, storage, and orchestration.

3. Do new users get free credits?

Yes. Every new account receives 1,000 credits (a $5.00 value) to explore and test the platform. These credits are free and applied automatically after account creation.

4. Do I need to add a payment method to use the platform?

Yes. Even though you receive 1,000 credits for free, a valid payment method is required to cover the cost of infrastructure uptime. This includes load balancers, persistent services, background jobs, or always-on deployments.

Credits are deducted based on actual resource usage. Examples include:

6. How do I know how many Credits something will cost?

Every task or action that consumes credits displays the estimated cost before you confirm. In most cases, usage is deterministic and clearly shown. For time-based or dynamic usage, final cost is determined after execution.

7. Do Credits expire?

Yes. Credits expire after 12 months from the date of purchase. Expired credits are automatically removed from your balance.

8. Can I transfer or resell Credits?

No. Credits are non-transferable, non-refundable, and may only be used within your account.

9. What happens if I run out of Credits?

If your balance reaches zero, you will not be able to initiate new tasks that require compute. You can purchase more credits at any time through your dashboard.

You can view your credit balance, consumption logs, and usage history in your Account Dashboard. Logs include timestamps and resource-specific breakdowns.

11. Are unused Credits refundable?

No. All credit purchases are final, as described in our Refund Policy. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us at scale@marketmonolith.com.
